I'm loving that the Beeb is streaming the French Open live and I've been keeping an eye on matches from my desk when I get the chance. I couldn't believe Nadal went out yesterday but I figure it'll make him a better player, Soderling was playing out of his socks, it was phenomenal. The photo above is from one of Gael Monfils' matches last week, it's not the kind of pose you expect to get in a tennis match, pretty impressive!Update: Monfils takes to the air again in another great photo on the official French Open website. And is it just me or does Juan Martin del Potro look a bit like the Karate Kid?

Slug and slime
The other day we were taking an assembly with P4-P7s – it was great fun. Two wee girls came up to us at the start and handed us these wee bits of paper which had “Slug and slime show Wednesday lunch and brack” written them – these were our VIP passes for their slug and slime show! Isn’t that so sweet?! Bless them! ...One of life’s little precious moments.
Tardis Tennis
If you’re feeling bored, why not play Tardis Tennis courtesy of the BBC Tennis website? You can be one of 3 characters – Shakespeare, John Lennon or Queen Victoria (don’t ask me what the connection with tennis is, surely Cliff Richard should have had the opportunity?!) and it raises a giggle. My 3 attempts were woeful and I lost all 3 games – I’m not fast enough round the keyboard obviously.

Wimbles is here! YES!!! I could just watch the TV all day, it would be bliss...it's not to be though (oh I'm such a martyr, so dedicated to the cause!!). One of our kids used to skive off school/tech for the whole fortnight and stay at home watching it on TV, in fact she doesn't even come to drop-in when Wimbledon is on! So who will win this year? Well, the Williams sisters may have to work hard this time round seeing as Henin-Hardenne won the French, but they're still the ones to beat. I'd so love Agassi to win, but I think Hewitt is the man to watch. And I'm sorry Tim, but I don't think you'll cut it, but I'll still cheer you on! Oh jolly tennis-rackets, where's my strawberries and cream? And more importantly, where is Des Lynam - bring him back!!!
